A light multipurpose helicopter developed by the Italian company Agusta in the late 1960s. The first release of helicopters began in 1976. During the period from 1976 to 2000, 576 helicopters of various modifications were delivered to various countries of the world. In 1972 the development of the light combat and reconnaissance helicopter Agusta A129 Mangusta began on the basis of Hirundo.
